Kelly Ryan, born and raised in the Motor City, Detroit, Michigan, fell in love with dance at a young age. Initially, dancing provided an activity for Kelly to release the tremendous amount of energy that kept her in perpetual motion throughout most of her childhood. Focusing that energy toward music and movement initiated a burning passion to explore everything dance had to offer and became the driving force behind her decision to make her passion a career.
Offering close proximity to the entertainment industry and the most opportunity for networking with professionals, Kelly chose to move to Los Angeles and received a Bachelor of Fine Arts in commercial dance from Studio School. Technically trained in all styles of dance including jazz and contemporary, genres she considers her strengths, moving to Los Angeles allowed Kelly to expand her repertoire through further exploration and perfection of skills including hip-hop, aerial silks, heels, and tap. In addition, the drive to stay in optimal physical shape introduced her to Lagree Fitness, a Pilates based workout, which motivated her to become a certified instructor, another passion that harmonizes well with dance.
Kelly has been active in many dance projects including IAmForce2019 contemporary dance company, background dancer in Youtube series “Dirt” starring Kalani Hilliker, along with the newly formed IAF Jazz Project under the direction of Chehon Wespi-Tschopp. She has trained with well known choreographers like Ambrose Respicio, Liana Blackburn, and many more. Her goal is to perfect her skills in all styles of dance and continue her training in aerial silks to take her career to the next level, hoping to perform with artists such as Katy Perry, Taylor Swift, and Pink throughout her career. While Kelly uses energy and passion to drive her dance career, she also aspires for her expertise in Lagree Fitness to motivate other dancers to follow her example and build lean muscle, increase flexibility, and promote longevity in their career.
